Tenants

Overview

With the Professional Edition, Confire Cloud allows the use of tenants to organize device groups. This enables the effective management of organizational units, such as the branches of a company or the schools of a school authority.

In the example below, there are two tenants: Bedford School and Fulham School. All tenants are currently displayed:

By clicking in the menu bar, you can display devices for one or more specific tenants:

Explained: Devices, Agents, and Tenants

Tenants provide the ability to activate the display of one or more agents and the devices they manage. To understand the role of tenants, it is essential to grasp what data is displayed based on the selected tenants:

  • Devices are detected by the agent.
  • Each agent maintains a database of the devices it manages.
  • When an agent is added to Confire Cloud, the administrator can assign a tenant to it.
  • Agents can be assigned to the same or different tenants.
  • It is recommended to assign unique tenants to grant groups access to devices.

Create Tenants

In the example below, there are no tenants, only devices assigned to two agents. We want to create two tenants: Bedford School and Fulham School:

Under the Agents/Networks feature, you can see the two agents without tenants:

  • Under the Tenants feature, create a tenant by clicking the plus icon in the top right:

  • Enter the name Fulham School for the first tenant and click OK:

  • Now create a second tenant:

  • Enter the name Bedford School for the second tenant and click OK:

  • The two tenants, Bedford School and Fulham School, are displayed:

Grant Tenant Access

Tenant access is managed through user groups. Navigate to User Management -> User Groups in the bottom left. Admin role access on your account is required for this feature:

  • To assign permissions to the group, click the pencil icon on the right:

  • Select the Permissions tab:

  • Enable the tenants to be assigned to the user group, then click Save:

Assign Tenants to Agents

  • Under the Agents/Networks feature, assign tenants to agents by clicking the pencil icon next to the agent:

  • Select the tenant, then click OK. Repeat this step for the other agent as well:

  • The agents are now displayed along with their assigned tenants:

View Tenants

By default, all tenants the user has access to are displayed. However, you can choose to display devices for only one or more specific tenants:

  • Click the Show All button in the top right:

  • Here, we select only one tenant, Bedford School, and confirm by clicking OK:

  • Now, only the tenant Bedford School is displayed:
